Obituary of PHIL RYAN

Please share a memory of PHIL to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
RYAN, Philip (Phil) – It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Phil, with his wife and dogs by his side at his farm on Tuesday October 27, 2020 at the age of 67. Loved and loving husband of Carol (Campbell). Loving father to Kathleen (Doran), and Dean. Proud “Abish” to young Nashville. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Clare David (Emmanuel), Teresa (Rob) Jackson, Adrian (Susan), Nick (Larraine), Susan (Raymond) Cardy, Denise Neufeld, Anne Rossignoli, Sharon Steele, Bob (Mary-Helen) Campbell, and Lynne (Steven) Gabriel. Phil will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Phil was predeceased by his mother Winifred Marian, father Denis, brother Frank, mother-in-law Marj Campbell, brother in-law Olaf Janitz, and brother in-law Rick Campbell. Phil will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and colleagues as a funny, kind, soft-hearted and wildly knowledgeable man. Phil was always full of warmth, entertaining anecdotes, and left you feeling blessed to be in his company. He was always keen to share whatever he could, and made a difference in the lives of those he met. Phil held a strong passion for aquatic ecology and made great contributions to Great Lakes fisheries research working with MNRF from 1972 to 2006. Phil spent many years building with Carol and the kids, his dream farm and winery. There was nothing he enjoyed more than days spent roaming the farm, with nature, his dogs, and some good words or tunes on the radio. Visitations will be held at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Monday November 2, 2020 from 1-3pm. Following funeral guidelines for Covid-19 family and friends are required to make an appointment for visitation by either calling 519-443-5332 or RSVP through our website.
