My heart goes out to my cousins - Carolyn, Brian and Teresa, and to my Aunt Lynda, and of course to his angel Carol. I haven't been fortunate to spend much time with Uncle Steve as an adult, but I definitely have childhood memories to cherish, especially at the cottage on Crystal Lake.
Because my brother shared a story from the cottage, I will share another one here - one that Uncle Steve LOVED to share about me when I was around 2 years old and he and my Aunt Lynda were living in Montreal. Uncle Steve made it very clear that us kids had to have something on our feet should we want to go down to the basement. And then alas, he caught me about to descend the stairs, and said "Kelly, what did I say about having something on your feet if you go to the basement?" and I replied with "I do have something on my feet Uncle Steve. I have my toes". LOL. Did he ever love to tell that story, and years later when he couldn't find the words himself, one of us would remind him of this story and we'd laugh and laugh.
I will miss the laughter in his eyes - his eyes that said so much when the words couldn't. He will be remembered with love and always for his smiley eyes. Miss you Uncle Steve xoxo

Stephen was such a wonderful advocate for the Aphasia Community. His enthusiasm to make a difference for others living with aphasia, is greatly appreciated. The camp he helped ARTC to bring to this area has been so rewarding for so many. His broad smile and hearty laugh were infectious.... I can still hear him say, "Yes! Good!" with a twinkle in his eye that made everyone agree.

Our heartfelt condolences to all the family & friends of Uncle Steve. I have many fond memories from my childhood, however there's one in particular that always brings an instant big smile to my face. We were up at Crystal Lake for yet another fun family vacation together with the Goff's, when I decided I was going to lock Uncle Steve in the outhouse! I'm not exactly sure what was going through my head in that moment, but I must have thought it was a good idea. The finer details of this story are foggy because I was likely only 2-3 years old, but I do remember the conversation that immediately followed once the outhouse door was unlocked. Uncle Steve said something like, "That's not funny, Sean." To which I replied, "Yes it is, Uncle Steve!". To this day, we all still get a deep-down belly chuckle from this story. It's just one of many great memories I have of my time with Uncle Steve & Crystal Lake. You will be missed very much, Uncle Steve - take care, until we meet again.
