It's difficult to talk of Wendy using the term 'was'. It was a shock to hear of her sudden passing. I worked with Wendy for nearly 30 years at the same museum. Although our roles were in quite different areas of museum work, our paths crossed often. I felt I could always go into her office and talk about anything that was of concern and her intelligence, 'down to earth' sensibility and compassionate side were always 'in the office'. I admired Wendy's 'no nonsense' approach but equally, her personal warmth and kind nature. Although our views clashed occasionally, we also shared several memorable, humorous episodes which showed Wendy's ability to laugh at herself, be a 'good sport' and quickly appreciate a humorous situation. Her fine qualities will be remembered by all who knew her and worked with her. She will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Wendy’s passing and I want to express my most sincere sympathies to the family during this difficult time.
Wendy was a highly valuable and respected member of our team here at the Region of Waterloo Museums. She knew how to get the job done but always had fun and enjoyment doing it. If you ever needed someone to talk to, have your back or needed a laugh you went to Wendy. I was lucky to have her as a co-worker but it was a privilege to call her a friend (even if she had to “test” each donut before she took one!)
Please accept my sincere condolences, she will be greatly missed and everyone is saddened by her passing. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Wendy was an undeniably beautiful human being. I have endless fond memories of growing up along side Mike and Scott through years of hockey and other antics, and Wendy was always such a caring and accommodating chaperone, mother and friend to me and my family over those years of my youth. I could go on forever in detail through years of amazing moments along side Wendy and her family. But it would take ages to share. Instead, know that I will always remember Wendy and smile. Thank you for illuminating my childhood, and as a result, my life.

Wendy was a dear high school friend at IDCI, Ingersoll. I am not surprised that Wendy, as a swimming instructor and pool life guard during her high school years, completed her working career as a mentor and teacher in her chosen field. She was an extraordinary person, kind, generous, outgoing, sociable and always cheerful. I will remember her sunny smile and outgoing personality fondly. Sincere condolences to Wendy and Claude’s families.

I worked with Wendy at Doon from 1996-2000, first as an interpreter and then as coordinator of the children's groundwater festival. I have very fond memories of my time at Doon and of Wendy. So sorry to hear of her passing. Condolences to the family.

Wendy was an absolute treasure. I still remember my performance evaluation, where Wendy told me, “You could relax a little bit. You have a good sense of humour - show that side at work.” I have followed that advice, and will continue to do so for the rest of my career. I miss her very much.
