Dear Shirley-so sorry to hear of George"s passing. I only knew him for 13 years through hockey and golf but he was always a gentleman and fun to be around-RIP my friend, Mike Gibbons

Sincere condolences to Shirley and the members of George's family.
It was very nice to have met, and always a pleasure to engage in conversation with the gentleman called "Uncle George" by his nieces and nephews, the Laning family.
I own one piece of Toronto Maple Leafs memorabilia - that being a picture of a smiling Johnny Bower - and will now whenever I see that picture, will think of his Denturist - George Tucker ! As a goalie who played in the pre-mask era of the NHL, he must have kept Uncle George busy !

Seeing George was always a pleasure. His smile, his sense of humour, kindness, artistic talent, were all part of his joie de vivre. He is part of my inner book of encounters with good people who see life as an adventure and good will.
Shirley, may all your memories be a comfort to you in the days ahead.

I had the privilege to know George through our hockey playing days on Sunday mornings with the Sam Brown All Stars. He was constantly laughing and smiling telling stories in the dressing room and later at the team breakfasts. He had a great sense of humour and was a good hockey player for his age which was a lot older than the rest of us. He was a good friend and will be missed by all. My condolences to Shirley and the family. John Jackson Fenelon Falls

George was a great guy with a good sense of humour. For instance, I was working alone at the Culver cemetery and George crept up on me and said “boo”, It worked because I dropped everything in my hand because I freaked out. We had a great time on the many family fishing trips. Goodby dear friend, Till we meet again!
