To Bonnie’s Family - My thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of Bonnie. My memory of Bonnie goes back to many years ago when we competed in the Norfolk County area spelling bee. I am the Virginia on page 324 of Bonnie’s book The Stovepipe. I am so happy that I have a copy of her book which I’ve read several times. She was a remarkable lady.
Sincerely,
Virginia (Lloyd) Drayson

My Aunt Bonnie was a very special lady to me as a child growing up on the dairy farm. Grandma & grandpa lived on the farm with my Mom & Dad & my brother & I - so Aunt Bonnie & Uncle Tony came to visit very frequently. Whenever I think of long past birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases, Easter, Thanksgiving, you name it - I think about Aunt Bonnie & her family.
Aunt Bonnie always looking great with her hair in a French bun & her strand of pearls. She was the fun aunt, the one that would take you to the fair & go on the roller coasters with you. I remember her taking me tobogganing a few times with my cousins to a bigger steeper hill than anything that we had on the farm. She overcame many hurdles in her life & went on to be a very successful person. She loved all her family very much, her husband, her two boys & her grandchildren, as well as her nieces & nephews. She was very creative & fun loving, she loved to tell her jokes & antidotes. She was a hard worker & a wonderful seamstress. She herself was always very fashionable, making the majority of her own clothes. At one point she designed & sewed dresses for others. She established her own drapery business. I can recall going with her when she was installing one of her elaborate drapery treatments.
Of course her legacy; her memoir that she wrote, “The Stovepipe,” was a great accomplishment.
I could go on telling stories about Aunt Bonnie that could fill a book or two!
She was much loved & will always be remembered with love & be sadly missed.
With love & heartfelt sympathies, Cheryl, Lee & Ian

Our sincere condolences and love to Tony, Mark and Brad.
Bonnie was a very important part my life growing up as she became part of our family while living with Grandmother Saracuse . I remember when she dated Tony!
Bonnie had the most beautiful smile plus a kind, gentle nature. She was a good cook and an amazing seamstress .
We were honoured to host her at my Bookclub to talk about "the Stovepipe" .Bonnie was so generous in sharing her story and writing process. The day followed with a visit from Scott's aunt and cousin who shared pictures of her family that she had been separated from. Ironically,Scott's Uncle Albert was one of her brothers. It was indeed a special day.
