Dear family, with great sadness I heard that aunt tiny passed away. I still think back with great pleasure to the time that I visit her and uncle Arie in Waterford for a couple of days together with my father and mother. I am so sorry to hear of Tena’s passing, she was such a lovely lady, I spent quite a bit of time with Tena over the years, I enjoyed our chats and will truly miss her. Tini was a gracious and generous woman. When I was in a severe car accident in 1964, and was hospitalized for three months, Tini took in, and cared for, my oldest child Nori. I will be forever grateful. All of the children in our family still refer to her as Tante Tini. Praying for all of you to experience God's peace in the passing of your mom as she is reunited with your dad and Theo. Tante Gerda

So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a truly beautiful person. I always enjoyed meeting up with her. I regret not stopping in to see her. I told her I was going to print this photo for her of the girls that got their hair done at the same time at Val’s. Julia Terdik, Tena and my Mom Peggy… I cannot make it to visitation, but I will be thinking of you all… may she rest in peace…

Tena was always a very kind and thoughtful person. I still recall meeting her for the first time on my way home from Niagara College, with Gerry back in 1984. Tena took the time to welcome me with open arms and fed me an amazing authentic Dutch meal before I continued on my way back to my home in St Thomas. Over the 2 years of college, frequent stops at the Vanderlee house on became the norm on my way home for the weekend and holidays. Tena took the time to get to know me, ask how school was going and most importantly, wanted to make sure Gerry was behaving while away from home. Little did I know at the time, that she would become my baby sisters mother in law. Thanks for being that special person in mine and my family's life Tena! You will never be forgotten.
