I was very sorry to hear of Doreen's passing. I was at the visitation of a family friend, Madge Murphy, and heard from Ester Cox, Eveline's daughter, of your mother's passing. Madge's funeral is the same time so I am unable to attend Doreen's but felt a strong desire to pay tribute to such a fine lady. Doreen helped me so much at Spruce Row Museum not only with her generosity of time but more importantly her visits and heartfelt smile. She beamed when she walked into the room. She always welcomed me into her home and I would go visit even after I my time at the museum. When I saw her picture in the paper and read the article about the family home I just had to call to say hello. Her daughter told me that she was resting and that was when I learned she wasn't well. I got her mailing address to send her a card but never got the chance. So I'm taking this chance now to say how much she touched my life and that I will truly miss her. I will remember her fondly, Priscilla.
