Rejane: It was wonderful to talk with you yesterday and to hear about a few of the travels and highlights of your life with George. You two made a great couple - and you have enjoyed a life, filled with family and friends and love that George fostered every day with his gentle nature and generosity and kindness - a life that most of us can only dream about. I know George was a great friend to our family - I am sure he was your best friend as well. I hope you can hold on to those many wonderful memories to comfort you in your loss. Thank you again for your friendship with our George & Pauline, particularly for your frequent visits while our George was disabled. We appreciate your loyalty and love and look to you as examples of truly great friends. Susan and Cathy and Patty: We send our deepest sympathy to you and your families. Your father will be remembered by us with the greatest respect. He was a true best friend to our George - they made an formidable team - but of course always in a fun way. Oh how they loved to get together, playfully trying to be "one up" on the other. Their vast knowledge of "useless information" would give Wikipedia a good run. June and the kids and I have had the pleasure of a few visits by George and Rejane to our home(s) in Vancouver (Coquitlam) and Victoria over the past 24 years, as well as having dinner with Patty & Rejane in Victoria last year. But the best memories that run back to Waterford and Trinity Anglican Church and your pink Howard Street home and Lions Club community events and hitching rides to and from W.F. Hewitt public school - those are wonderful memories of George - being a great father, friend, mentor, and listener - yes he was a fantastic listener, even though he had so much wisdom to share. His secret recipe fluffy pancakes live on in our kitchen (he let me in on his technique). We share your loss. We share your love of a great man. Bless you and your father. Lawrence & June & Tara & Taylor, Victoria, BC.

Dear Rejane, We offer our sincerest sympathy in the loss of your dearly loved George. Most of our memories are times in Merida. Much fun, laughter and good food. Please express our heartfelt regrets to his daughters, Sue and Pat, and their families. He loved his family so very much. The last thing George said to Kip while he was going through his trials at the Clinica en Merida were "I could sure use a beer." Always a joke. You were such an amazing wife and partner to him Rejane. We will all miss him but you, of course, will be carrying the heavy load of grief. What a caring and capable partner you were to him. He had an interesting long life and lived it to the fullest. Take care, we are thinking of you, you are always in our prayers. Please keep in touch. Love, Kip and Heather
