MAYERS, A. George; Peacefully passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Saturday April 4, 2009, of Waterford at the age of 92. Much beloved husband of Rejane Kouris-Duquette & the late Lillian (Maxwell). Loving father of Sue (& Gary) Battram, Cathie (& Don) Sutcliffe, Pat Deslippe, Yves (& Sandra) Duquette, Guy Duquette. Proud Poppa of Wendy (& Jeff), Rick (& Amanda), David, Amanda, Alicia (& Randy), Anita (& Greg), Scott, Betsy, Michelle, Alexis, & great grandchildren Olivia, Lucie-Jane, & Jayden. Dear brother-in-law of Joe Kouris. He is preceded in death by son-in-law Rick Deslippe, grandsons Peter & Stephen Deslippe, & 8 siblings, Alice, Kitty, Marg, Henry, William, Victor, Jimmy & Rose. George was a Veteran of World War 2, Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123, Past President of Branch 123, Past President of Waterford Lions Club, and Zone Chairman of Lions. Family & friends are invited to celebrate the life of George at the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:30am. Pastor Raymond Thompson officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Legion Service Tuesday at 6:15pm & Lions Service Tuesday at 6:45pm.
