Dear Justine, Although it has been many years, Albert still chuckles at the fond memories of his shinny hockey days with John, not to mention the vet trips and adventures at the farm years ago. Boy, he sure could tell a story. Our deepest sympathies to you and all the family. Albert & Dorothy Cloet Marten River (formerly of Waterford)

Having had the opportunity of knowing John over the past years has been both a privilege and a blessing. He was truly a gentle-man, kind, diplomatic and intelligent. John's accomplishments in life were more than impressive although he spoke humbly of them only when prompted. He will be missed by all.

I’m sure you don’t know me, but my Mom worked at the Federal building with him years ago. (A little story of how I met him). One evening I brought my Mom with me to go and see this puppy my husband and I wanted to get and sure enough when we get to the house and this fellow comes to the door, the first thing he says is “Well hello Georgie” (that was my Mom’s nickname at work), it was Dr. John (as she called him). Well my mind was made up, she knew him and always spoke highly of him, so we got our very first dog, a black Lab we named Bruno. My Mom and I wish to extend our condolences to you and your family at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Justine and all of John's family as we remember John. We all knew him as a great sportsman and hunting enthusiast - always present at Hamilton Hunt events, supporting the club in so many ways. His walking sticks and hunt whips will be treasured by those of us so lucky to have them, both in Canada and the United States. We will miss him.

Thinking of you all in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. At family reunions and visits both at Kingsland and in the west we enjoyed and appreciated John's quiet, friendly, unassuming company and his warm smile. This is a loss for the extended Hare family and he will be missed.
